Horse hoof inkwell

Inkwell made of the hoof of a horse of great lineage, referred to in the description on the frontal cartouche in the shape of a shield. All silver parts are made in sterling silver: engraved cartouche, historiated and hand-engraved pod-shaped lid, pommel and lining.
Made in England in the city of Sheffield in 1883. Dimensions: height cm. 11.50, width cm. 14.
Cartouche: Johnny Champion Cob won over 50 prices. Owned by Major T. Mitchell – ferness Hall – Rossendale 1881. Foaled 1859 - friendly bullet 1883.
